Lynn Tibbets, president
of Sheridan Strategic Finance, founded the company in 2002 to help business
owners make the right business decisions. SSF's mission is to help companies
achieve and maintain profitability and to successfully navigate business
transitions, such as relocation, expansion and the introduction of new
product lines.
A 1996 MBA graduate
of the Simmons School of Management,Tibbets business career has spanned
more than twenty years and includes experience in finance, accounting,
operations, general management, benefits administration and direct supervision.
She began her finance
career as a full-charge bookkeeper in a retail food business, where she
participated in management decisions at every level. As controller of
a job-shop production business, Tibbets assessed, purchased and implemented
financial software; established a financial reporting system to produce
financial statements within seven days of the end of each period; and
increased cash flow by reducing outstanding payables.
Tibbets' management
experience includes a stint as general manager of a business that produces
educational models, where she designed and implemented a database application
to manage client contacts, job orders, invoicing and accounts receivable
without duplicate data entry. In addition, Tibbets has been a store manager
in a $6 million retail food business, where she improved customer service
and employee satisfaction by developing a cashier training module; initiated,
designed and implemented an annual planning process with stakeholder input;
and increased labor productivity 12 percent.

Most recently, Tibbets was a senior financial analyst at EMC Corp., where
she had full responsibility for budget development, rolling reforecast
and variance analysis in a $26 million manufacturing unit.
A high-energy individual
with diverse interests, Tibbets believes that many business owners can
benefit from her experience and knowledge.
